Here, you wake up to birdsong. Step outside and enjoy nature in this beautiful, hilly part of Zealand.
We are Peter & Karin and live in the village of Gevninge in Lejre, where there are fields, a stream, forest, and a church nearby. We have set up a Bed & Breakfast in our cozy guesthouse.
Prices and Facilities:
- A single-person overnight stay costs 500 DKK. For two people, it’s 700 DKK. The guesthouse accommodates a maximum of two people and has its own entrance, a bathroom with a shower, and a small kitchenette where you can make coffee and tea. Kitchenware, a small refrigerator, a small double bed, and a dining corner are also provided. There’s a small terrace where you can have breakfast. The price includes bed linen, towels, a hairdryer, Wi-Fi, final cleaning, access to the laundry room by appointment, and the option to borrow bicycles and a canoe.
Smoking is not allowed inside, but you are allowed to smoke on the terrace.
Breakfast: If you’d like breakfast, please order it when booking, as we don’t always have the ingredients on hand. Breakfast can be added for 80 DKK per person and typically includes fruit, soft-boiled eggs, homemade bread (such as whole-grain rolls and rye bread), butter, cheese, jam, Greek yogurt with homemade muesli, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Remember to order in advance.
Local Amenities: Within walking distance, you’ll find a small pizzeria, a hairdresser, a library, and a Rema supermarket. Additionally, we highly recommend having lunch or dinner at Svogerslev Kro, located in Svogerslev, a 10-minute drive from here. Remember to make a reservation. There are also several other good restaurants nearby.
Transport: Buses run here from both Lejre (bus 207) and Roskilde stations (buses 207, 230R, 226). The distance from Lejre station is approximately 6 km, and from Roskilde, it’s about 10 km. Note: If you’re arriving by car via Gevninge Bygade, turn onto Holmehuse. The house is located at the corner of Holmehuse and Svenskebakken. Do not drive up Svenskebakken, as it’s closed with a barrier at the end. You can advantageously park in one of the spaces by the black water tank across from our house.
Reservation: Book your overnight stays via the contact box on this page, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. If you have any questions, feel free to call or send a message. Contact details are available on the contact page. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
Check-In and Check-Out: Normally, check-in is from 2:00 PM onwards, and check-out is by 11:00 AM.
